The austere simplicity of a 1800 sf office space for the Nitehawk Cinema becomes a backdrop for screening and creativity. Taking cues from a collection of memorabilia, along with pops of Nitehawk-yellow, the space is designed to allow natural daylight to filter from the large garage door facade with a steel-clad box of more private programming. As the headquarters for a growing chain of innovative movie theaters, the space accommodates a staff of 10, including a conference room, private phone booths, film display and screening area, and outdoor deck. While the offices were to be open visually, there was also need for more private settings. A pair of telephone rooms and a conference room were outfitted with acoustical insulating material, and soft surfaces to moderate sound transfer.
